For the tight fit of the switch units, the holes for the torsion pins must be transferred from the original handlebar to the new handlebar. With the LSL drilling template you can easily transfer the distance dimension of the hole and is guided through the bushing when drilling. On new BMW models, the anti-rotation fit of the switches is ensured by 4 mm screws, which are screwed through thehandlebar to the opposite side. This structural design presents a significant challenge for the assembly of accessory handlebars. LSL is now addressing this with a new version of the LSL drilling template.
The drilling template for BMW handlebars has a 4 mm drill bush and is designed so that the handlebar can be drilled through on the opposite side. To prevent the mechanic from hitting the template with the drill when penetrating on the opposite side, the drilling process is intercepted in a countersink in the drilling template.
The drilling template is made of high-strength aluminum and anthracite hard anodized to increase the surface hardness the hole is guided in a drill bush with 4 mm diameter.
